Graduate Goes onto Advanced Degree While Putting her NVCC Credential to Work in Physical Therapy
Chelsea Clow received two A.S. degrees while matriculating at NVCC, one in General Studies in 2015 and the second in Physical Therapist Assistant in 2017. She is now enjoying a full-time job at Masonicare in Wallingford, Connecticut, where she gets to apply what she learned at NVCC as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  For her ultimate career goal,  Clow is considering an advanced degree in hospital administration or teaching, so she is pursuing an advanced degree starting this fall at Charter Oak State College.

Having just returned from the national conference of The Physical Therapy Association this summer in Orlando, Florida, where she received the Mary McMillan Scholarship Award, Clow stopped by NVCC to update her success story. The Award she received was made on a competitive basis, based on the following criteria:

1. Superior scholastic performance.

2. Past productivity.

3. Evidence of potential contribution to physical therapy.

4. Service to the American Physical Therapy Association.

Based on her experience, Clow advises prospective student to take advantage of the wonderful opportunities available at NVCC. "I was able to experience so much as an NVCC student by participating in many activities and clubs on campus. I have grown as a person and as a young professional at NVCC. Also, I would tell students to pursue their dreams and to never give up. I applied for the PTA Program at NVCC and did not get accepted my first try - however a couple years later I graduated from that program."
