Child Development Lab School Eligibility & Application

Eligibility for the Center for Early Childhood Education 

We accept applications for children of the College staff, faculty, students and the outside community. Enrollments are accepted on a first-come first-served basis, except for NVCC Students who have priority enrollment, followed by families who have attended previously, have College affiliation, all while ensuring that our classrooms are diverse.

Age Requirements

Toddler Program
18 months - 3 yrs.

Preschool Program
3 - 5 yrs.

School Readiness Program
3 - 5 yrs.

Kindergarten Program
5 yrs. by January 1st of the upcoming year for which you are applying (i.e. applying for the 2019-2020 year, must be 5 yrs. old by January 1st, 2020)

Don’t Wait...

We encourage you to apply to the Center for Early Childhood Education at NVCC as soon as your doctor announces your due date or you begin the adoption process. Because space is limited, there is often a waiting list for admission. 

The waiting list varies depending on age, time of year and eligibility for the School Readiness Grant program. Secure your spot on the waiting list as soon as possible!

*Please note: School Readiness programs have a priority for Waterbury residents.

Center for Early Child EducationTuition and Fees

College Year Toddler and Preschool:

  • College Year payments are broken down into manageable weekly installments. 

School Readiness Program:

  • The School Readiness Program weekly fees are based on a sliding fee scale. 
  • If you choose not to submit your income documents and/or your income is over 100% of the State Median Income you will be charged the Cap Fee for this program.
