“Our program results validate the competence of our nursing graduates. NVCC graduates are committed to providing quality health care to people in communities where they work and live. We believe our graduates are prepared for long-term success in a fulfilling health-care career,” said Dr. Carol Gabriele, Associate Dean for Health Sciences and Director of NVCC’s nursing program.

Our nursing program is a model, and I am immensely grateful to our dedicated faculty and staff who mentor our students ensuring they are successful in the classroom and in their future professional and academic endeavors.”

NVCC’s associate degree nursing program is comprised of a four-semester curriculum with sixty-eight credits required for graduation. Graduates are awarded an associate in science degree in nursing and are eligible to apply for licensure through NCLEX-RN and from the CT Department of Public Health. Graduates of the program have the opportunity to continue their education at a number of baccalaureate and advanced degree programs throughout the state and nationally. The general education courses and nursing courses in the program are sequenced to build from fundamental skills to complex critical thinking skills. According to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report the job outlook for RNs between 2016-2026 is ranked as “faster than average”.
