NVCC’s Events Management Club Tours Rhode Island
Share
Seven members from NVCC’s Events Management Club (NEM) traveled to Rhode Island July 20-21 where they observed tourism activities, discussed tourism development in urban environments, experienced fine dining venues, and critiqued hospitality employment opportunities. The two-day trip included attending the annual Waterfire festival in Providence with NVCC Professor and club advisor Karen Rotella. The group also ferried to Newport, RI, to tour America's premier waterfront community.
“We had a blast, even though it was the hottest weekend ever,” said Professor Rotella.
Students in the club are enrolled in NVCC's Hospitality Management program, which provides students a foundation in the foodservice management or hotel management. Students can tailor the program to their interests with a choice of options. To get involved in the NEM club, check out nv.edu/activitiesandclubs for all the details.
