NVCC’s Alumni Association Celebrates Fall Semester with Two Stellar Events
The Alumni Association at Naugatuck Valley Community College kicked off the Fall 2018 semester with two popular events that engaged dozens of alumni, faculty, staff, and community members. On October 2, the Association hosted its inaugural speaker series in which four distinguished alumni discussed their paths to leading successful careers. Speakers included: Charles Boullier, CEO Ion Bank; Kathryn Luria, Senior Vice President of Community Affairs and the Director of Philanthropy for Webster Bank; Jim O’Rourke, CEO of the Greater Waterbury YMCA; and Geraldo Reyes Jr., a Connecticut State Representative for the 75th District. The event featured an opening reception sponsored by a grant awarded by the Connecticut Community Foundation.

On October 11, the Association held an event at Waterbury’s Brassworks Brewing Company well-attended by manufacturing alums, current students, faculty and staff, and industry colleagues. Attendees enjoyed an event where they were able to reunite with classmates, network, and enjoy local craft beers and food while raising funds for NVCC students.
