Naugatuck Valley Community College invites STEM enthusiasts of all ages to its 2nd Annual STEM Festival on Saturday, April 30 from 1 – 4 pm at their Waterbury Campus located at 750 Chase Parkway. The festival, organized by the college’s NViSION scholar program and NVCC STEM Club, will feature live STEM demonstrations by students and faculty, family-friendly STEM activities, music, food, a reptile experience, a bounce obstacle course, tours of the campus grounds, exploration of various species of plants on campus, and lots more fun!
Planned demonstrations and hands-on activities include how to make elephant toothpaste, slime, holograms, lava lamps, bottle rockets, and hovercrafts. "Instructions will be provided for attendees to replicate many of the activities at home," explained Marian Zerbi, Professor of Mathematics and NViSION Scholar Program Co-Director. The NVCC Quadcopter Team, sponsored by the NASA Space Grant, will also be showcasing their final project.
