Naugatuck Valley Community College Holds Advanced Manufacturing Information Session

Naugatuck Valley Community College will hold an Advanced Manufacturing Information Session on August 3at 5:30 p.m. on its Waterbury campus, in Technology Hall Lobby.
All are welcome to take a tour and learn more about Naugatuck’s advanced manufacturing technology certificate program, financial aid, scholarships, and options for utilizing the certificate credits toward an associate degree or transfer to other colleges.
Classes begin on August 29, with full- and part-time options. Those students who enroll full-time can earn a certificate in as soon as a year. Students can prepare for positions as CNC and machine operators, inspectors, and other positions on the shop floor. The program includes paid internships and job placement services.

The Connecticut manufacturing sector will need thousands of new skilled workers over the next decade to support this growing sector. Manufacturing employees in Connecticut can earn up to an average of $1,000 per week.
Naugatuck students enrolled in advanced manufacturing technology programs can apply college credits earned to four-year degrees in manufacturing-related career technologies at other private and public universities in Connecticut through the College of Technology, a collaboration among Connecticut’s community colleges and partner universities to provide seamless career pathways for students to earn certificates, associate of science and bachelor of science degrees in engineering and technology disciplines, as well as preparing students for the workforce.
With campuses in Waterbury and Danbury, NVCC serves more than 4,000 credit students each semester, offering more than 80 associate degrees and certificates, including eight associate degrees and certificates with manufacturing emphases. Naugatuck is among 12 community colleges in Connecticut merging in 2023 to become CT State Community College, one of the largest community colleges in the country and largest in New England, dedicated to quality, access, and affordability. CT State students will be able to apply once and take classes at any campus.
