Naugatuck Valley Community College Celebrates ‘Spring Fling’ on the Plaza

With classes coming to a close, award ceremonies, finals, summer plans, and perhaps graduation, it is a busy time of year for college students. But everyone has to have a chance to unwind. That’s where NVCC’s annual Spring Fling comes in.

The event, which was held on the plaza outside of NVCC’s Fine Arts Center on Wednesday, April 29, featured dancing, food, music, games, tie-dye shirts, a foam pit, and a dunk tank to raise money for the group Autism Speaks.

“We wanted to have a little party to say, ‘yeah we’re almost there you guys; keep going; keep pushing forward.’ We just wanted to relieve some of that stress before finals start,” says Kristin Harris, a student worker and senator in the Student Government Association who helped to organize the event.

Spring Fling also included special performances by NVCC’s Martial Arts Club, Music & Arts Club and Terpsichorean Dance Club.
