NVCC’s President Daisy Cocco De Filippis Panelist at CT Chapter of ALPFA

The Connecticut chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) invited NVCC President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D. to participate as one of four panelists at its “Woman of ALPFA” June 13 meeting held at the Holiday Inn in East Hartford. The theme of the conference was “The Power of Your Networking Community,” with the event and panel focusing on the role that informal networks play in in developing personal growth. Other panelists included Dr. Estela Lopez, former Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs for CSCU; Attorney Erin O’Neil-Baker, founding partner of the Hartford Legal group, and Dr. Zulma Toro, President of Central Connecticut State University.
ALPFA was established in Los Angeles in 1972. Throughout its 47-year history, its mission is to empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy.
“I was delighted to participate in a conversation that was designed to share strategies that support Latina women’s growth in their leadership potential,” said President De Filippis. “It was an evening of great collegiality and shared reflections. I appreciated being a part of this event with such accomplished and talented women.”
