NVCC’s Nursing & Respiratory Therapists Classes of 2019: More than 100 Strong

“As you know this is a year of significant achievements for you all. You have earned fine credentials and have chosen to undertake the meaningful journey of service to help others. You are receiving your pin today, a symbol of your commitment to a meaningful profession,” said NVCC President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D.
At the May 22 nursing pinning ceremony, President De Filippis praised the faculty and students for the significant achievements of the program. “This is the number one community college nursing program in the state of Connecticut,” she said citing the RegisteredNursing.org ranking the program received putting it among the top four programs in the state.
“Lead and advocate for yourself, for your patients and for your communities,” guest speaker Kimberly Sandor, Executive Director of CT Nurses Association urged the 112 graduates in her keynote.
The soon-to-be respiratory and nursing graduates then crossed the stage as members of the faculty presented their pins and posed for pictures.
With increasingly complex health care needs and an aging population, the demand for highly-qualified and skilled nurses and respiratory therapists to join the workforce continues to increase. NVCC offers new students and those seeking a career change top-ranked academic programs in both registered nursing and respiratory therapy.
