The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) has honored Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) with two prestigious awards for marketing publications that promote the College.

The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges in District 1 which includes Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, New Foundland, Nova, Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec, and United Kingdom. The College earned honors in NCMPR’s regional competition for the NVCC Strategic Plan Toward a Splendid College 2013-2016” and the 2014 edition of the Garden Book, “The Gardens of Naugatuck Valley Community College.”  This year’s awards will be announced October 13th during the NCMPR regional annual conference in National Harbor, Maryland. Judges from across the country evaluated entries in 46 categories.

Sydney Voghel-Ochs, director of marketing and public relations at NVCC, noted that “Winning these awards is a great honor for NVCC because it affirms our commitment to making a difference for NVCC, our mission, and our students.” Voghel-Ochs said, “We are delighted with these awards and grateful to the professionals within NCMPR who judged NVCC to be among the best.”
