Naugatuck Valley Community College Class of 2015 Nursing students donated 20 fleece blankets to the neonatal intensive care units at St. Mary’s Hospital and Waterbury Hospital in May. 

A bake sale was organized to raise money for the materials. Students met throughout the spring semester to make the blankets, which will be draped over incubators to prevent the harsh lights of the unit from shining onto the newborns. The blankets can then be taken home as a keepsake.

Students included Tammy Allen, Joy Benoit, Kaitlin Boyen, Crystal Coggins, Samantha Conway, Pablo Paschoal De Oliveira, Ashley Donato, Crystal Dube, Heidi Hinkson, Hayley Jackson, Aleksandra Oliasz, Luanna Pereira, Ariela Reynolds and Christine Ronan.
