New England Association of Schools and Colleges Visits Danbury Campus

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) conducted a site visit at Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Danbury Campus on November 17 as a follow-up to the location’s transition from a center to a full-fledged branch campus, which began roughly 18 months ago.
During her visit, NEASC Site Coordinator Dr. Melissa Fama, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, Mass., discussed the College’s future plans for Danbury with NVCC President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D., toured the Danbury Campus, met with students, faculty and staff from Student Services and received a sneak preview of the new quarters the campus will be occupying next year.
“I think she was very impressed; she is very familiar with the structure of branch campuses as Mount Wachusett has three branch campuses in addition to their main campus,” said NVCC Dean of Student Services Sarah Gager. “She was truly amazed at the number of students we support in the space we have.”
President De Filippis thanked her management team and College faculty and staff in Danbury and Waterbury for making the visit a success. An official report from NEASC on the visit is anticipated in the coming weeks.
