Four new NVCC students, Liana Alvero, Eshwarie Roopnaraine, Catherine Sharkey, and Jessica Carvalho attended the event with NVCC W.A.V.E. Assistant Worksite Coordinator, Tracy Mahar. She noted, “The take-away for our students was the power of possibility as illustrated by the speakers and the program in general. The students learned valuable concepts from the Forum such as the importance of self-care for personal growth. They also took away practical skills including how to network, and how to tackle the difficult topics of anxiety, stress, and fear in their lives.”
This marks the 16th year of the W.A.V.E. program at NVCC. Generously funded by the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board, it provides support and guidance to students as they transition to post-secondary education. W.A.V.E works with high school students in the NVCC 22-town service area.
