NVCC was ranked #38 nationwide in Washington Monthly's "Best Colleges for Adult Learners - 2 Year Colleges." Since 2005, the Washington Monthly has published their annual College Guide and rankings. The Guide is based on the contribution to the public good that colleges makes in three broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students) Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhD’s) Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country). The Guide features a report on the Best 2 Year Colleges for Adult Learners based on • Ease of transfer • Flexibility of programs • Services for adult students • Tuition and fees • Tuition and fees rank • % students over age 25 • Students over age 25 rank • Mean earnings of adult students 10 years after college entry • Loan repayment rate of adult students With an annual full-time tuition of $4,316 and a long list of programs that contribute to this ranking, NVCC continues to make a difference for students of all ages and income levels. In 2016 the U.S. Department of Education ranked public two-year colleges for their effectiveness in serving low-income students with relatively high outcomes. Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) was among the top 25 community colleges nationwide that advance opportunities for low-income students. NVCC enrolls 41% of low-income students, with graduates averaging $34,100 in earnings 10 years after enrollment, and 75% of borrowers successfully paying down their loans three years after graduation.
