Naugatuck Valley Community College Celebrates Sixth Annual Open House
Naugatuck Valley Community College hosted its sixth annual Spring Open House on Sunday, April 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. at its Waterbury Campus where prospective students and their families were able to see all that the college has to offer. Faculty, staff, and student leaders were on hand to talk one-on-one with prospective students and visitors about applying to and attending NVCC. Campus tours were conducted throughout the day with stops at the Library, Academic Center for Excellence, Student Center, Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, Hospitality Management Program, the greenhouse, allied health labs, and other popular locations. Students from the Hospitality program offered visitors refreshments made in house. The event featured workshops on topics including financial aid and admissions. While tours and dozens of visitors were spread throughout the campus, the atrium in NVCC’s Technology Hall was the lively hub of the Open House with representatives from the College’s many student service offices, academic divisions, its Danbury campus, and credit and non-credit programs represented in a trade-show like environment.

“The Open House featured so many of our generous faculty and administrators, as they engaged community in a display of knowledge and enthusiasm for our collective work and the richness of our programs,” said NVCC President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D.
