Naugatuck Valley Community College Celebrates Earth Day with a Campus Clean Up and Fountain Opening
Share
Students across campus, including the Student Government Association, the Agri-Bio Club and Student Activities staff joined together to produce a campus-wide Earth Day celebration on April 27th. In what has become an annual tradition at NVCC, students cleaned the pond area beside the falls near the Poet’s Circle. About 25 students, faculty and staff participated to clean and then shared time with the President to turn on the fountain in the garden. Lunch was provided to all who participated.
“Water bubbling through the fountain is celebration of spring and the beauty of our campus,” commented President Daisy Cocco De Filippis.
Dean of Student services, Sarah Gager noted that the event is a testimony to the level of engagement and dedication our students demonstrate every day not only to our College, but throughout the larger community. Working together to make the world a better place, one step at a time, we can make a difference.
