At least 350 students and alumni attended the April 11 Job Fair sponsored by NVCC’s Center for Job Placement and College Opportunities (CJPCO). The Job and Career Fair was held in Café West on NVCC’s Waterbury campus from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm and the feedback from most of the employers present was overwhelming positive. Many said it was the most successful job fair to date with many students attending. A total of 40 area employers participated at this year’s fair representing industries as varied as accounting, manufacturing, early childhood education, criminal justice, and allied health.
“The job fairs are a great time for students to start networking with employers who will be helpful in their careers in the future,” said CJPCO Director Antony Wormack.
For those who missed the Job Fair, there’s still time to take advantage of the CJPCO which offers current students and NVCC alumni resume review consultations (contact either Allison Terry or Teri Smith at 203-575-8158 or email them at: This email address is being protected from spambots. The next Job Fair is scheduled for October 3 and will highlight part-time, entry-level, and seasonal jobs as well as internships. The fall Job Fair will be the perfect opportunity for students with little or no work experience who are looking to get that first job as well as to help all students earn some extra money while they are in college.
