Debt-Free Community College at NVCC- Deadline to Apply is July 15!
Pledge to Advance Connecticut (PACT) supports Connecticut residents who are first-time college students and who enroll in community college this fall 2021 semester full-time. The program allows students who qualify to earn a degree or qualifying certificate without taking on debt. Entry into the program will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.  The deadline for acceptance is July 15, 2021. For more information and to see if you qualify, check here:  Admissions-and-Aid/Getting-Started/PACT-Program

After more than a year when many students put their education on hold, the PACT program offers an opportunity to get back on track. It helps students start their post-secondary education by making it possible for all qualified Connecticut residents to earn a degree or certificate, regardless of their ability to pay.

Students must live in the state of Connecticut, be a graduate of any Connecticut high school or home school program or have earned a GED, and be enrolling in college for the first time. Continuing students who enroll and stay enrolled as full-time students in a credit degree or certificate program, or take developmental educational courses are eligible. To be considered, students must apply for and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) by July 15 and continue to do so for each academic year enrolled. Students must also remain in satisfactory academic standing (SAP).

Blayre L. Millo, Associate Director of Admissions, emphasizes that NVCC is committed to providing our students with high quality and affordable education. She further comments, “We are delighted to have the PACT Program as an additional resource to assist our students in realizing their academic goals. The fall 2021 semester is approaching quickly! It is with extreme enthusiasm, that we look forward to welcoming our students!”

By the numbers, the PACT requirements are:

36 Months- The PACT program covers 3 years of tuition and fees.
12 Credits-The minimum number of credits per semester required for PACT eligibility.
