College Ends 2013 with Recognition of Talent, Hard Work and Generosity

Employees showcase special interests in the third annual NVCC Talent Show

All over the world, the end of year signifies a time for reflection. At NVCC, that time-honored tradition culminates in the December All-College Meeting, in which the President reviews the year's accomplishments and opportunities forthcoming and the management team recognizes employees for their service and dedication.

This year was particularly special as it brought closure to the 2010-2013 strategic plan, completing the transition into the 2013-2016 plan, a continuation on the College's journey Toward a Splendid College.

"How meaningful it is to come together as an engaged community of purpose to reflect on the end of another academic semester and to celebrate our achievements and our resilience and generosity of spirit," said President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D. "I thank you all for your continued engagement and hard work, evident in the success of our students. We celebrate today the fact that access and excellence guides all of our work." Read full remarks.

The meeting also gave employees the opportunity to share their special interests and talents in the annual employee talent show, which included multimedia storytelling, acting, singing and dancing.
