Accounting is in the news!

Every organization needs to know how it’s doing, what it has and where it’s going. Gathering and recording financial information and reporting, analyzing, interpreting and communicating that information is the mission of accounting. The 2015-16 Occupational Outlook Handbook from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, says:

"Employment of accountants and auditors is projected to grow 11 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. In general, employment growth of accountants and auditors is expected to be closely tied to the health of the overall economy. As the economy grows, more workers should be needed to prepare and examine financial records." Source

"Employment of bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks is projected to decline 8 percent from 2014 to 2024. Technological change is expected to reduce demand for these workers." Source
