NVCC’s Music and Theater Departments Presented Revue Showcase

NVCC’s Music and Theater Departments Presented Revue Showcase

The NVCC music and theater departments collaborated to produce their revue showcase! There were two performances in November in the mainstage theater on the Waterbury campus of NVCC. This semester, theater and music students joined together to feature songs from classic Broadway shows including First Date and Wicked. the performance was also streamed live via YouTube on the NVCC Theater Tech channel.

Professor of Music, Gil Harel noted, “This performance was a showcase that certainly left you feeling (as the iconic Wicked song goes) "changed for the better".  I am really thrilled for our students - they worked so hard. Some rehearsals stretched on for 5 or 6 hours - even longer for some. This isn't particularly unusual in theater, but the strain of extra rehearsals that required hours of singing, dancing and moving - all while wearing masks - was substantial. At any rate, it was a sensational show. Perhaps the most exciting thing about it was that we were welcoming back a live general audience for the first time since October 2018 when Little Shop of Horrors was performed. Many people  turned out to enjoy a most memorable evening.
