NVCC Planning Orientation Welcome to Kick off the New Academic Year on Waterbury and Danbury Campuses

NVCC Planning Orientation Welcome to Kick off the New Academic Year on Waterbury and Danbury Campuses

President Daisy Cocco De Filippis, Ph.D., students, faculty and staff of Naugatuck Valley Community College are planning the details for two campus-wide orientation programs to welcome new students and their families on both the Waterbury and Danbury campuses. The programs will open with Student Registration and refreshments for students and parents. Academic, Administrative and Student Services Deans, faculty and staff will be in attendance for student information. 

Looking forward to another year at NVCC, President De Filippis noted, “As the new academic year begins we are ready to welcome our new students to our campuses in Waterbury and Danbury. It is a joy to welcome students to our caring academic community of purpose where intelligence and kindness come together to change lives through the power of education.” President De Filippis plans to welcome new students with an introduction and a poem.

The orientation program on the Waterbury campus is scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2020 and on the Danbury campus for Tuesday, January 14.

Annually this newness is showcased at an oasis of gardening, the annual Connecticut Flower and Garden Show. Hosted at the Connecticut Convention Center, the show features fresh flowers, plants, herbs, bulbs, seeds, gardening books, garden equipment, beautifully landscaped gardens, a design & horticulture competition, and 80 hours of seminars and demonstrations on garden-related topics.
