NVCC Hosted 2021 Annual Diversity in STEM Seminar with Zackarie Lemelle

For students considering an education or career in Science, Technolgy, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), NVCC hosted their Annual Diversity in STEM Seminar. Zackarie Lemelle, President & CEO of New Hope Coaching & Consulting,  spoke to students about his professional experiences during his 31 years in IT, his five years in HR, and his present work as a business owner and Executive Leadership Coach. He also shared his efforts to support the next generation of STEM professionals, and the adversities that he has overcome to become a well-respected STEM professional. The seminar was held via WebEx.

The seminar was the fourth in what has become an annual forum for respected STEM (Science, Technology, Mathematics, Engineering) professionals to share their careers, perspectives, and experiences about the personal and intellectual journeys they have undertaken to get where they are today. NVCC students and local high school students were encouraged to attend to learn more about STEM career paths. The public was also invited to register for the free event by joining the WebEx sponsored by the Naugatuck Valley STEM Inclusive Opportunity Network (NViSION) and funded by the National Science Foundation.
