Naugatuck Valley Community College Presents Annual Manufacturing Awards

NVCC CEO, Lisa Dresdner, Ph.D. joined the faculty and staff of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC) to present the annual Manufacturing Incentive Awards to the program’s highest achieving students. “Celebrating the success of our students is a priority at NVCC,” Dresdner noted. “It gives me great joy to hear the wonderful and unique strengths of these ten students.”

 Naugatuck Valley Community College and Waterbury Public Schools (WPS) have partnered with Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) to implement the second, federally- funded Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) program for current 8th grade Waterbury students.

Thomaston Savings Bank Awards Scholarship to Naugatuck Valley Community College Manufacturing Student

Carlos Novicky, a student in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Program at NVCC was selected as the recipient of the annual Thomaston Saving Bank Manufacturing Scholarship Award. Based on academic performance and a recommendation from the NVCC manufacturing instructors, the award recognizes a student who lives in a town serviced by the Bank.

WATERBURY- Naugatuck Valley Community College Closes Fall Semester with Virtual All College Meeting

 Traditionally each semester at NVCC opens and closes with an all-college meeting to update progress on the College’s activities – academic, extracurricular, and community.  The December meeting is always filled with holiday cheer culminating in a campus-wide talent show. Despite this year’s virtual setting, talent and good cheer were the order of the day.

 The NVCC Student Food Pantry was recently awarded a $3000 donation from the Elisha Leavenworth Foundation and $2,000 from the Ion Bank Foundation. This generous community support helps the NVCC Student Food Pantry continue to assist students and their families who experience increasing food insecurity during the pandemic.

The Bellwether College Consortium has named NVCC’s Allied Health and Nursing Program a top 10 Bellwether Award Finalist in the category of Instructional Programs & Services.
