Naugatuck Valley Community College Staff Presenting at Community College Showcase
Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) is hosting a virtual Community College Showcase on Thursday, April 1, 2021. With more than 60 workshops tailored for high-school students and their guidance counselors as well as for non-traditional students, attendees will learn about the 12 community colleges across Connecticut and learn about the admissions processes, academic programs, and student support services offered at the colleges.

Attendees will hear about the application process from admissions staff, and the NVCC Office of Financial Aid will present FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) 101, designed to answer questions about applying for financial aid and how to successfully navigate the FAFSA process.

Information on specialty programs will also be shared with attendees. Presentations include One Year to a Career, a talk on the Advanced Manufacturing Technology programs at several of the Connecticut Community Colleges and how students may earn college credits while working in a hands-on environment, and Nursing, a talk about earning an Associate Degree in Nursing as one pathway to becoming a Registered Nurse. In this session, students will learn about the admissions process, pre-requisite courses needed before applying to the program, and educational advancement in nursing.

The first annual showcase is a virtual event that requires registration to attend. Register online today. https://www.ct.edu/showcase
