Naugatuck Valley Community College Presents Annual Scholarship and Manufacturing Awards

The awards are incentive courses that recognize the top students and provide additional free educational training in the fields of Additive Manufacturing and Solid Works. The following students qualified for the awards and were recognized at the annual ceremony: Tyler Abele, Luke Borbas, Harrison Bussman, Ed Elie, Anderson Gabriel, Silva Nicolas, Anthony Novicky, Jeremiah Padua, Brandon Price, Keven Rodriquez.
Dr. Dresdner presented the annual Manufacturing Incentive Awards to these high achieving students. “Celebrating the success of our students is a priority at NVCC,” Dresdner noted. “It gives me great joy to hear the wonderful and unique strengths of these students.”
This year’s award is Introduction to Additive Manufacturing/Solidworks Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3-D Printing workshop that is taught during the winter break.
Michelle Allen, Mathematics Instructor introduced the high achieving math students from the class of manufacturing students, with special recognition of the top student Keven Rodrigues.
Joseph Defeo, Director of the NVCC Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, commented, “The incentive program has been highly successful in adding additional educational value to our students’ credentials. The free training offered to these high achieving students also helps to round out their resumes and gives them a competitive advantage when applying for manufacturing positions.” Dr. Dresdner further noted how these additions to students’ resumes “complements the excellent education they receive at the NVCC Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center!”
